Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a microbiological process for the degradation of leather wastes, where a pre-inoculum obtained from bacterial strains of the genus Bacillus sp. or from fungal strains of the genus Penicillium sp. in the logarithmical growth phase are cultivated on a liquid medium, at a pH value of 5...9, at a temperature of 28A C, for 24 hours, while stirring at 200 rpm, to obtain an inoculum which is transferred in a ratio of 1/19 in a nutrient broth containing leather wastes as gelatine in case of bacterial strains and as spore suspension containing 1.2x10^4 units/ml in case of fungal strains, at a pH of 5...9, at a temperature of 20...37A C, the assessment of leather waste decomposition being achieved by microscope observation of samples and gravimetric determination of weight thereof after 21 days.
