Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a process and mould for manufacturing the thermal insulators for the pipes conveying the heating medium from the thermal stations to the consumers. The process consists in manufacturing a cylindrical insulator body provided with a central bore of the same diameter as the pipe it is to be mounted on, by wrapping a 2 ... 3 mm thick expanded polyurethane protective cloth or some textile material, said cloth being fastened with the fastening nails equipping the inner mould cylinder, followed by closing the lateral sides of the mould and introducing an external expanded polyurethane protective cloth which fits tight the inner side of the lateral walls due to the polyurethane elasticity, and a mixture comprising uniformly comminuted expanded polyurethane waste and polyethylene flakes (a mixture in a ratio of 60 % polyurethane and 40 % polyethylene, the amounts being expressed in units of mass) is introduced into the gap formed between the two cloths, said mixture constituting the core, followed by closing the mould cover and subjecting the mould to a thermal treatment for heating at 150 ... 160 degree C, followed by free cooling, then opening the mould and removing the insulator body therefrom, said insulator body being mountable on the pipe.
