To eliminate wrinkles on the shoe face, the vamp is so designed that the radius R1 of the vamp edge is approximately the same versus a point on the shoe longitudinal axis; the plantar part of the face stitched on to the edge can thus be formed without wrinkles when covering the shoe block.
