Zusammenfassung:	The drum in a centrifugal separator from which slime is periodically removed is cleaned by briefly overflowing the surfaces with soln. of acid or alkali with intermediate rinsing water, with the overflow caused by shifting the liq. level in discharge chambers. During the cleaning process the pump power is reduced by lowering the rotation speed in a specified cycle. A number of such cycles can be initiated during a single cleaning sequence. The cycle is produced by a signal responsive to the frequency changes of a synchronous or asynchronous motor.
