Zusammenfassung: | New quaternary quinoline salts are prepd. by treating quinoline with monohalogenic acid (or its esters), with polyalkylene-glycol (170-600 M wt.) in water for 38 hrs. at reflux temp. This is followed by modification of the anion of the quaternary ammonium salt, via a reaction with sodium phenoxide or sodium-alkyl-(8C-9C)- phenoxide, in water or alcohol at 85-105 deg.C. Cpds. have formula (I) A is H or a polyoxy-alkylene-glycol radical of 170-600 M.wt., and X+- (II) or alkyl-(8-9C)-phenoxide gp. These cpds. are efficient corrosion inhibitors (to 94-99%) in a medium of 10% HCl for OLC 38 or OLC-45 or respectively in a medium of 17% H2SO4 during 6-360 hrs. exposure at 25 deg.C. Inhibitor concn: 0.05-0.1%. |
