COLLATING DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A SHEET MATERIAL BOOKLET

The invention relates to a collating device (100, 100') for collating material sheets (112) and producing a sheet material booklet (500) for a document type selected from a plurality of different identification, value, or security document types, wherein the sheet material booklet (500) to be produced comprises the collated material sheets (112) in a sequence specific to the document type. The collating device (100, 100') comprises: supply stations (102, 102'), which each hold supplies of material sheets (112) of a uniform sheet material type and a sheet material tray (108) having a flat surface (110) for providing an individual sheet of the material sheets (112), a sheet material take-up device (118, 118') for collecting the material sheets (112) for the sheet material booklet (500) to be produced, wherein the sheet material take-up device (118, 118') is configured such that, in the sequence specific to the document type at the individual supply stations (102, 102') of the sequence specific to the document type in each case a material sheet (112) is taken up from the flat surface (110) of the respective sheet material tray (108), a fixing device (128), wherein the relative orientation of the material sheet (112) to be taken up with respect to the material sheet taken up immediately previously is specified and successively the sheet material booklet (500) specific to the document type is produced.
