Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a device for securing to a component (9, 10), in particular a tolerance compensating element, comprising a main element (1) and a compensating element (2) which can be connected to the main element (1) via a screw connection. A stop region (11) is formed on a compensating element (2) end facing away from the main element (1). A screw (5) can be introduced into a retaining means (6) through the compensating element (2) and the main element (1), and the compensating element (2) and the main element (1) are completely or virtually completely screwed into each other in a transport state. The invention is characterized in that a protective element (13) is provided which at least partly surrounds the stop region (11) laterally in the transport state.
