Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A security paper 10 comprising; a first layer 11 of fibrous substrate and a second layer 12 of fibrous substrate overlaying the first layer, the first layer providing a first surface 13 of the security paper and the second layer providing a second surface 14, the first layer having at least one aperture 15 therethrough such that the second layer is not overlaid by the first layer at the at least one aperture; and a security additive 17 located within a predetermined region, said region at least partially surrounding the at least one aperture. The security additive may entirely surround the aperture and may extend adjacent to the first surface. The security additive may extend at least partially into the thickness of the first layer so as to be embedded within the first layer or does not substantially extend into the thickness of the first layer such that the security deposit is substantially only located at the first surface. The security deposit may be machine readable or detectable, or visible to the naked eye when the first layer is viewed in reflected and/or transmitted light. A method of manufacture is also provided.
