Zusammenfassung:	A sorting device comprises a support member for supporting and transporting an article, which is drivable in a conveying direction and tiltable between a laying position and a downward position about a tilting axis extending transversely with respect to the conveying direction, a loading station at which at least an article can be loaded to the support member, an unloading station at which at least an article can be removed from the support member, and a releasable locking member for holding a product to the support member in the downward position thereof. The device is adapted such that under operating conditions the support member is tilted downwardly before arriving at the unloading station and the locking member is released close to or at the unloading station.
