POWDER PROCESSING METHOD

The invention relates to a method for processing excess material powder to be reused, which material powder arises and is collected during the production of three-dimensional objects (28) from material powder (20) having a desired particle size distribution (42) by solidifying said material powder layer by layer at those points of the particular layer that correspond to the object currently to be produced as per geometry data, wherein the particle size distribution (42) of the material powder can change during the production of the three-dimensional objects, such that the excess material powder has a particle size distribution (44) that differs from the desired particle size distribution of the originally used material powder, and wherein the material powder having a particle size distribution (46) that differs from the particle size distribution (42) of the originally used material powder is added to the excess material powder in order to bring the particle size distribution of the excess material powder closer to the desired particle size distribution of the originally used material powder.
