METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SECURITY ELEMENT HAVING A LASER-SENSITIVE RECORDING LAYER

The invention relates to a method for producing a security element (12) for security papers, value documents, and other data carriers, wherein a substrate (20) is provided with a laser-sensitive recording layer (22) at least in some regions, which recording layer has a visual initial appearance and is composed of an ink mixture that comprises at least one laser-absorbing mixture component, a first laser radiation having first laser parameters is applied to the laser-sensitive recording layer (22) in a first sub-region (26) in order to produce there a first target appearance that is changed with respect the initial appearance, a second laser radiation having second, different laser parameters is applied to the laser-sensitive recording layer (22) in a second sub-region (28) in order to produce there a second target appearance that is changed with respect to the initial appearance and that is different from the first target appearance, wherein the first laser radiation and the second laser radiation are produced by means of only one laser source (32) and only one imaging optical system, and the first sub-region (26) and the second sub-region (28) are thereby produced in register with each other.
