Materials for producing transparent heat protection elements and light protection elements produced using such materials, and method for the production thereof

Heat protection element comprises at least a carrier element and a protective layer, which is a water-containing silicate composition obtained from alkali metal oxide and silicon dioxide (SiO 2), and contains at least one alkylsiloxane. Independent claims are included for: (1) a silicon dioxide containing aqueous dispersion, where the silicon dioxide is precipitated silicic acid and the dispersion is stabilized by the addition of polyol and alkali hydroxide, preferably potassium hydroxide; (2) a process for producing protective layer, comprising, mixing glycerin, potassium hydroxide (KOH) stabilized silicic acid and KOH solution, in an amount corresponding to 70-75, preferably 73.45 wt.% of dispersion and 25-30, preferably 26.55 wt.% of KOH solution (50 wt.%); and (3) a process for preparing a dispersion comprising fumed SiO 2and/or precipitated silica, where for the reduction of SiO 2particles, a nano mill is used during and/or after dispersing process.
