Zusammenfassung:The transparent fire proof glazing comprises an intumescent layer (3) between glass sheets (1, 2). The intumescent layer is a layer of hydrated alkaline silicate in the preparation of which the silica (60 wt.%) is introduced in the form of an aqueous suspension of silica particles with an average grading of 50-130 nm, and has water content (35-43 wt.%). Molar ratio of silica to alkaline in the layer is 3.5-6. Adherence of the intumescent layer with the glass sheets is favored by applying adherence promoters on the glass sheets or by incorporating the promoters in the intumescent composition. The transparent fire proof glazing comprises an intumescent layer (3) between glass sheets (1, 2). The dried intumescent sheet is separated from the support sheet. An independent claim is included for a process for preparing a transparent fire proof glazing.
