Zusammenfassung:	1. A supra-surface oxygen lance for refining steel, consisting of a steel pipe conduit with a fire-proof shield. It is characterised in that the steel pipe conduit (1) has a ring-shaped projection in the upper part (5), and a thread in the lower part. The fire-proof shield is constituted by external pipe segments (2), (3), (4). The top segment (2) and the middle segment (3) are slid over the steel pipe conduit (1), while the lower segment (4) is screwed on the thread of the steel pipe conduit (1).
