Zusammenfassung:The present utility model discloses the formulation of producing cacao- flavored seaweed blended beverage. Seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii) and cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) are some of the important commodities in Region VII. Seaweeds contain a complete source of nutrition in varying amounts however is undervalued and underutilized in the region. On the other hand, cacao beans are processed by almost all small-scale producers in the country. Many individual households are even processing their own cacao beans. In Argao, Cebu, the production of cacao tablets locally called as tableya is an old tradition practiced since the Spanish colonial period. Cacao is a good source of antioxidants and contains several amounts of vitamins and minerals. The formulation of this new product from cacao and seaweed is truly a welcome development to add value to both commodities.
