WOOD MOISTURE METER PROBE

The present utility model relates to a wood-moisture meter probe to be attached to a wood moisture meter having a platform and a stopper, a steel bar connecting the platform and the stopper, and a handle which is movable along the steel bar. The platform has a has a plurality of pins, which may be a pair, on one end, adapted to be pierced against or driven into a wood specimen for wood moisture measurement. The subject wood meter probe is connectable to a digital wood moisture meter by means of a cable. The cable may be connectable, on one end, to the platform by means of a BNC connecter, and connectable, on the other end, to the digital wood moisture meter by means of an adapter. The adapter may be changed depending on the size and specifications of the wood moisture meter to which the subject wood moisture meter probe will be attached. The wood moisture meter probe may also be designed to be attachable to a wood moisture meter calibrated to measure the moisture content of wood species endemic in the Philippines. Operationally, when the pins are driven into the wood specimen, said wood specimen becomes an element of an electrical circuit. Based on the electrical resistance of the wood and its moisture content, the moisture content of the wood specimen is determined. Unlike other wood moisture meters, the present utility model can be detached from the unit depending on the thickness of the wood.
