Zusammenfassung:	Compounds of the formula wherein R1 is hydroxy-C2-8-alkyl containing 1-5 OH-groups; R2 is hydrogen, C1-4-alkyl or R1; R3 and R4 can be identical or different, and each independently is hydrogen or C1-4-alkyl; and X is straight chain or branched C2-12 alkylene interrupted by sulfur or selenium atoms, and, optionally, additionally interrupted by oxygen atoms, by a di(C1-4-alkyl)silyl group or a tetra(C1-4-alkyl)disiloxane group; are very useful as X-ray contrast media opaque agents, which can be employed even in lymphography.
