WASHING MACHINE

A washing machine comprises a washing tub (4), a pulsator (5), a motor (7), a brake mechanism, and a controlling device (50). The washing tub (4) can also rotate for dewatering. The pulsator (5) is disposed on the inner bottom portion of the washing tub (4) so as to freely rotate. The motor (7) drives the washing tub (4) and the pulsator (5). The brake mechanism applies a braking force to the rotation of the washing tub (4). The controlling device (50) performs a series of washing operations such as a washing step, a rinsing step, a dewatering step, and the like, and has a control unit and a storage unit. The control unit controls the series of steps and detects whether the termination state was termination by completing execution in which termination occurs by completing the execution of operations based on the set content input by a user or termination by aborting in which termination occurs during operation. The storage unit stores the termination state for the previous washing operation. The control unit also changes control of the brake mechanism according to the termination state of the previous washing operation stored in the storage unit.
