Zusammenfassung:	This power generation unit is provided with: a motor generator having a rotor with a magnet, and stator with a coil driven by a plurality of phases, wherein the coil of each phase is not connected to the other coils; and a drive control unit that carries out control in such a manner that the coil of each phase of the stator achieves any one of a first state in which torque is generated by the rotor, a second state in which both ends of the coil are electrically released, and a third state in which both ends of the coil are short-circuited.
