System and method for automated online notarization meeting recovery

The current disclosure describes a system and method for a notarization meeting recovery method performed by a server device is provided. Embodiments may include initiating, an online notarization meeting between a signer and an agent, via respective first and second client devices, and displaying at a graphical user interface of the second client device, an electronic document associated with the online notarization meeting. Generating a partially completed electronic document based on edits made to the electronic document via at the graphical user interface of the second client device, causing to display, at the graphical user interface of the second client device, a user selectable option to transition the partially completed first electronic document into a locked state where further modification is disallowed and storing the partially completed first electronic document. Upon determining that the online notarization meeting has been interrupted by an issue beyond control of the signer and includes a technical problem, recovering, after the interruption, the partially completed first electronic document, and automatically processing the partially completed electronic document after the determining by indicating a status of the partially completed electronic document.
