Devices for pumping blood, related systems, and related methods

An intravascular device for pumping blood includes a catheter (300) comprising a membrane chamber (304) located between a proximal end and a distal end of the catheter (300). Following intravascular insertion the membrane chamber is moveable between a contracted configuration and an expanded configuration that has a first diameter. An inflatable membrane (306) is disposed within the membrane chamber (304) wherein the membrane chamber (304) comprises a chamber wall free of valves. The intravascular device comprises a valve chamber (322, 324) separate from the membrane chamber (304), wherein the valve chamber (322, 324) has a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter of the membrane chamber (304). The intravascular device includes a first one-way valve (310) and a second one-way valve (312) configured to permit blood flow in a first direction. The first one-way valve (310) is positioned proximal to the membrane chamber (304), and the second one-way valve (312) is positioned distal to the membrane chamber (304). A third one-way valve (310) positioned between the second one-way valve (312) and the membrane chamber (304), wherein the third one-way valve (310) is configured to permit blood flow in a second direction opposite to the first direction.
