Disclosed is a customizable pillow insert with equally sized fiber filled compartments on top and an envelop for a removable gel infused foam pad at the bottom. A pillow [50,60] comprising a rectangular shaped top sheet [12,112,212] and a rectangular shaped bottom sheet [14,214] stitched together along three edges to define an inner chamber [16,616] having an opening on a fourth edge [18,20] with a removable insert (62) placed in the inner chamber [16,616] with a plurality of equally sized compartments (22) extending in the length and width directions and covering the outer surface of the top sheet [12,112,212] opposite the inner chamber [16,616], each compartment (22) defining a fiber filled cavity; an envelope [30,530] connected to the bottom sheet [14,214] adjacent to the inner chamber [16,616], the envelope [30,530] having an opening aligned with the opening of the inner chamber [16,616] with a removable pad (52) contained within the envelope [30,530], the pad (52) comprising gel covered foam; and a releasable fastener (40) connecting the top sheet [12,112,212] and the bottom sheet [14,214] at the opening of the inner chamber [16,616], such that in use, plurality of compartments and removable pad provide an additional support to the pillow insert in a uniformly distributed way.
