Zusammenfassung:	A modular collar system for constructing a collar to be worn around the neck. The neck collar (10) is formed of central (42j) and side (42i, k) members connected by complementary mating connections (41a, b). The central and side members together define an arc greater than 180°. A gap is formed between free ends of the side members, such that the collar does not extend around the entirety of the neck. At the free ends of the side members, compressors (32) are slidably engaged. When worn, the compressors contact two or more neck veins, exerting an inwardly directed force. The disclosure provides an adjustable neck collar device for the mitigation and prevention of traumatic brain injury, including concussion, by increasing intracranial blood pressure.
