Zusammenfassung: | Emulsion explosives are generally transported to a job site as an "emulsion matrix" that is too dense to completely detonate, also referred to as "unsensitized emulsion." The emulsion matrix needs to be "sensitized" in order for the emulsion explosive to detonate successfully. Sensitizing can be accomplished by injecting chemical gassing agents into the emulsion matrix that react to form gas bubbles in the emulsion matrix. The gas bubbles reduce the density of the emulsion and make it detonable. Methods of delivering explosives with variable densities and methods of varying the energy of explosives in a blasthole are disclosed herein. The methods can include introducing at different uniform flow rates a gassing agent (21) proximal an outlet of a delivery conduit. The methods can include homogenizing the unsensitized bulk emulsion matrix (31) prior to introducing the gassing agent (21) proximal the outlet of the delivery conduit. |
