Zusammenfassung:The present invention refers to a brass alloy, wherein Al2O3 is present in the alloy in the form of ceramic nanoparticles. Furthermore the invention refers to a method for production of the brass alloy. The claimed invention relates to a brass alloy having low lead content (which is desirable for, inter alia, environmental reasons). A brass alloy is provided with a maximum Pb content of 0.25% and Al2O3 nanoparticles, having improved machinability and/or cutting ability compared to other low-lead brasses.
