Zusammenfassung: | An apparatus 100 and method for processing carbonaceous material is provided. Known gasification processes use moving bed reactors, fluid bed reactors, and entrained flow reactors. Each process has drawbacks including high production of pyrolysis products, reduced thermal efficiency, restrictions on the size of the feed particles, high temperature demands and high oxygen demands. The apparatus provided herein has a reactor vessel 130 with a plurality of solids medium ingress apertures 142a, 142b, 142c, 142d for receiving controlled fluid flow of heated solids medium and a feed material ingress aperture 131. The ingress apertures are spaced along the flow path of the reactor vessel for forming distinct zones based on temperature. The reactor vessel has a syngas egress aperture 150 and at least one egress aperture 146 for egress of processed carbonaceous solid material and spent solids medium. The method includes allowing the heated solids medium to transfer heat to the feed material in the reactor vessel 130 to produce syngas and a processed carbonaceous solid material. The syngas is allowed to exit the reactor vessel through the syngas egress aperture 150. The processed carbonaceous solid material and spent solids medium are removed through the at least one egress aperture. |
