Zusammenfassung:	A suspension system for a heavy-duty vehicle can include an air spring, an air reservoir external to the air spring, said external air reservoir being in fluid communication with said air spring, and a means for restricting air flow between the air spring and the external air reservoir for providing damping characteristics to the air spring. The external air reservoir can be incorporated into a component of the vehicle selected from the group consisting of an axle, a beam of a suspension assembly, a main member of a slider box or a vehicle frame, a cross member of a slider box or a vehicle frame, and an air spring spacer. The means for restricting air flow controls the air flow from the external air reservoir to the air spring, and from the air spring to the external air reservoir. The suspension system can further comprise a hose fluidly connected between the external air reservoir and said air spring. The suspension system is an improvement on prior art suspension systems.
