Zusammenfassung:	608668 A sorter drive assembly for a positive displacement sorter having a plurality of interconnected parallel slats (36) defining an endless web (32) that travels in a longitudinal direction. The web has upper and lower runs and transition sections between the upper and lower runs. The upper surface of the upper run of the web defines an article-conveying surface. The drive assembly includes a belt (164) and a drive pulley adapted to drive the belt. The belt has a belt surface driving a lower surface of the upper run or an upper surface of the lower run of the web. The belt surface has a plurality of slat drive cogs (168a), each adapted to engage a vertical surface of each of the slats.
