An article of furniture providing tablet computer support

607250 A support mechanism for tablet computers is disclosed in the form of one or more grooves (8) formed in the upper surface of a desk top (3) or similar flat surface. Each groove is typically 25mm in width, 30mm depth and 500mm in length. Thus the groove has a length greater than or equal to the width of a tablet computer (9), a width greater than or equal to the thickness of the tablet computer, and a depth sufficient to engage a lower edge of the tablet computer. Thus the tablet computer can be supported in a vertical position, or in a position inclined slightly from the vertical. Preferably openings (not shown) are provided for the cord of a tablet computer battery re-charger. Various embodiments are disclosed.
