Macrocylces and their uses

Disclosed are macrocycle compounds of formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, enantiomer, stereoisomer, rotamer, tautomer, diastereomer, atropisomer, or racemate thereof, including a pyridine N-oxide thereof; wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification. Also disclosed is the use of these macrocyle compounds in treating bacterial infection such as Staphyloccocus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Enterococci, Clostridium difficile, Propionibacterium acnes, Bacteroides fagiles, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Branhamella catarrhalis.
