SOLID FORMULATIONS OF PYRAZOLE-CARBOXAMIDE ARTHROPODICIDES

Disclosed are solid arthropodicide / biocidal compositions which comprise by weight: (a) from 0.3 to 100% of a particulate component comprising porous particles of a solid carrier (such as powders of calcium silicate, diatomaceous earths, bentonite, kaolin and attapulgite clays), the particles are infiltrated / adsorbed with a mixture comprising (i) one or more carboxamide arthropodicides of Formula 1, N-oxides, and salts thereof; and (ii) a surfactant constituent comprising one or more surfactants selected from the group consisting of alkylbenzenesulfonic acids and their salts, alkylpolyglycosides, hydroxyalkylcelluloses, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block copolymers, vinylpyrrolidone polymers, ethoxylated sorbitan esters, ethoxylated sorbitol esters and acrylic graft co-polymers, such that the surfactant suppresses crystallization of the one or more carboxamide arthropodicides; (b) from 0 to 50% of a surfactant component having dispersing and wetting properties; and (c) from 0 to 99.7% of one or more additional formulating ingredients; wherein the substituents for the compound of formula (I) are: X is N, CF, CCl, CBr or Cl; R1 is CH3, Cl, Br or F; R2 is H, F, Cl, Br or cyano; R3 is F, Cl, Br, haloalkyl or haloalkoxy; R4a is H, alkyl, cyclopropylmethyl or 1-cyclopropylethyl; R4b is H or CH3; R5 is H, F, Cl or Br; and R6 is H, F, Cl or Br;. Of particular importance are formulations wherein the compound of formula (I) is selected from 3-bromo-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridinyl)-N-[4-cyano-2-methyl-6-[(methylamino)carbonyI]phenyI]-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide or 3-bromo-N-[4-chloro-2-methyl-6-[(methylamino)carbonyl]phenyl]-1-(3-chloro-2-pyridinyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide.
