Zusammenfassung:A luminaire for illuminating a target zone having plural subregions in front of and to the sides of the luminaire comprises housing 17 with wall, a lamp holder and a reflector. The walls 25, 27 of the housing 17 define a bottom opening 33, with the opening 33 defining a plane. The lamp holder in the housing 17 is positioned to support an electric lamp 19 that is axially oriented generally perpendicular to the plane of the opening. The lamp 19 has a light source that is substantially parallel to the axis of the electric lamp 19 and has plural source sectors. The plural source-sectors are a three-dimensional spaces occupied by a light-emitting segment. The reflector in the housing 17 partially surrounds the lamp 19 and its light source. The reflector has a segmented centre portion and a pair of segmented side portions 61, 63. The segmented center portion has first and second side edges each forming sides of the bottom opening and a first plurality of center segments each of which is parabolic in a cross-section. The parabolic cross-sections of the segments have focal points in different ones of the plural light source-sectors such that each segment directs a preponderance of its reflected light toward a particular target zone subregion in front of the luminaire. Each side portion 61, 63 forms a side of the bottom opening and is joined to the center portion along a respective one of the side edges. Each side portion has a plurality of side segments 10, 103, 107, 109, 111, 113, 115 each of which is parabolic in a cross-section, with the cross-sections of the segments having focal points along the light source-sectors such that each segment directs a preponderance of its reflected light toward a particular target zone subregion to a respective side of the luminaire.
