The housing 407, 409, 410, 411 accommodates the at least one sensor and/or antennae means. At least a part of the elongate strap member 401 comprises a semi-rigid structure 404 for fitting around the neck of the animal. The structure 404 comprises the at least one housing 407, 409, 410, 411. At least one housing is shaped such that, in use, it rests in a natural recess on the upper side area of the animal's neck.
