Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus for the simultaneous illumination of teeth is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a light base having a concave curved surface 15 forming an archway interior space. A plurality of light-generating devices 16 is positioned on the light base to shine light into the archway space. Each of the light-generating devices is arranged to output light in a lobe that overlaps light lobes of other devices. This forms a combined light field of light from plurality of light generating devices of substantially uniform intensity of about 10 to 300 milliwatt per centimetre squared in the archway space, at a distance of up to about two inches from the concave surface.
