Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer comprising the structural unit of formula (1), wherein X represents a binding chain excluding an ether bond, each of R1 to R4 represents independently a substituent and n represents 0 or 1, characterised in that: a) the copolymer has an ethylene content of 20% to 60% by mol; b) the copolymer comprises an amount of formula (1) of 1% to 10% by mol; c) the copolymer has been subjected to a degree of hydrolysis of at least 90% by mol; d) the copolymer has a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.1 to 100g/10 minutes at 210C and a load of 2160 g; and e) the copolymer is able to impart stretching properties and the binding chain and substituent are compatible with that result.
