Zusammenfassung:	A packaging unit (42) for absorbent articles (1) is disclosed. The packaging unit comprises a number of folded articles, the folded parts (11) of the articles being arranged towards one of the sides of the packaging unit. The fold areas of a number of absorbent articles are arranged at a distance from the side of the packaging and the fold areas of a number of the absorbent articles are arranged in direct contact (17) with the side of the packaging unit. The folded areas at a distance from the side of the packaging unit are offset by a distance of 5-50 mm in relation to the articles arranged with their folded areas in direct contact with the with the side of the packaging unit.
