Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a composition comprising a) a synthetic polymer, b) a filler, and c) as dispersing agent an acrylic copolymer containing an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate comprising at least 8 methylene groups in the side chain. The above composition can be further characterised in that the component (c) is a statistical, block or comb copolymer having at least one hydrophilic and at least one hydrophobic segment wherein the hydrophobic segment is based on an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate comprising at least 8 methylene groups. Also disclosed is the use of the above mentioned acrylic copolymer as defined under (c) to intercalate and exfoliate a filler and disperse the filler in a synthetic polymer matrix to form a nanocomposite material.
