Information and browsing method for mobile phones using a voice activated query

A method, and computer readable medium including computer instructions, is disclosed for serving a request for information requested through a voice-and data-capable device. The method includes the steps of (a) receiving a spoken query through the device according to a voice communication protocol, and (b) in response to the query, storing information responsive to the query in a database for subsequent retrieval by the device, according to a data communication protocol. The information may be sent as a voice signal to the device according to a communication protocol, or alternatively, as a textual message according to a message protocol, where the data communication and communication protocols are the same protocol.
