Oxazol/ thiazol-derivatives activators of the hPPAR- alpha receptor

Activators of the hPPAR receptor comprise the compound of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates and hydrolysable esters thereof, wherein: X1 represents O; R1 and R2 are methyl; R3 and R4 independently represent H, halogen, -CH3 and -OCH3; R5 represents H; X2 represents NH; Z is N, and Y is S; R6 represents phenyl and is optionally substituted by one or more halogen, CF3, C1-6 straight or branched alkyl (optionally substituted by halogen). Also disclosed is the use of the compound in therapy and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of an hPPAR alpha disease or condition such as dyslipidemia, syndrome X, heart failure, hypocholesteremia, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes mellitus, type I diabetes, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, obesity, anorexia bulimia and anorexia nervosa.
