Zusammenfassung: | Disclosed is a process for burning off oil spills, for example on lakes, seas and marginal seas, or in the soil; wherein, prior to ignition, the oil slick is sprayed with an incendiary material containing a readily combustible mixture containing saturated and/or unsaturated hydrocarbons of the same or different length, each hydrocarbon having 4 to 12 carbon atoms; which mixture optionally contains at least one additive which improves the rheological properties of the oil slick, acts as a solubiliser, and/or promotes combustion; and the oil slick, soaked with this mixture, is then ignited. Also disclosed is an incendiary composition comprising a readily combustible mixture of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons as described above, and additives including a di-alkyl phthalate, and cyclohexene or toluene. Also disclosed is a priming compound consisting of the above incendiary composition sealed in a plastic packaging, in amounts of 0.5 kg to 2.0 kg, an igniter cord, connected to a pull fuse by means of a match cord fixed to the packaging. |
