Zusammenfassung:	A method of producing a terminally sterilized topical patch preparation comprising: - exposing a topical patch preparation to electron beam radiation for a period of time sufficient to terminally sterilize said topical patch preparation, - producing a terminally sterilized topical patch preparation. The topical patch may be packaged and sealed in an aluminum layer. The topical patch may be an adhesive gel composition comprising: - an active ingredient, such as a local anesthetic. - a water soluble polymer gel, - water, and - a water holding agent. Also a kit for a transdermal patch as described above which includes instructions for use is disclosed.
