Zusammenfassung:	An isolated derivative of JNK3 that contains a deletion in the N-terminal region corresponding to the 1-38 fragment of the JNKAlpha1 or JNKAlpha2 isoform, the derivative having sequence ID no.23 or 25, or variants of such sequences in which one amino acid is modified. Also disclosed is an isolated derivative of JNK3 that contains a deletion in the C-terminal region from amino acids 139 onwards. Further is the use of ligands that bind to such derivatives in the preparation of medicaments to treat diseases involving neuronal degeneration.
