Zusammenfassung:	An attenuated bacteria harbouring a plasmid vector comprising a nucleic acid molecule encoding a major outer membrane protein (MOMP) of a strain of Chlamydia or a fragment thereof which generates a MOMP specific immune response and a eukaryotic promoter operatively coupled to the nucleic acid molecule for expression of the MOMP or fragment thereof in a host but not in the attenuated bacteria is described. The bacteria can be used in the manufacture of a medicament for immunizing a host against infection caused by strain of Chlamydia.
