Method and system of searching a database of records

An electronic document indexing system firstly comprises one or more index entries (302) maintained in computer memory. Each of the index entries is indexed by a unique keyword (300) and comprises one or more data items (304) representing the address of an electronic document available over a network. The system also includes a query component that parses user's query into terms and operators to be sent to a search engine that is used to retrieve one or more index entries satisfying the user query. There is also a retrieval component that retrieves the electronic documents corresponding to the retrieved index entries and this is displayed to a user.
