Zusammenfassung: | A portable intramuscular stimulation system comprises a plurality of intramuscular stimulation electrodes for implantation directly into selected muscles of an individual, each electrode includes a deinsulated percutaneous lead, a housing sized and configured to be carried by the individual, a microprocessor-based stimulation pulse generator carried by the housing for generating select electrical stimulation pulse trains. The pulse train generator includes a battery carried by the housing to power the pulse train generator, a plurality of electrical stimulation pulse train output channels carried by the housing adapted to be connected to the plurality of percutaneous leads, an input device carried by the housing to select stimulation pulse train parameters for each of the stimulation pulse train output channels. The stimulation pulse train parameters includes at least a pulse amplitude and pulse duration for stipulation pulses of the stimulation pulse train and an interpulse interval between successive pulses of the stimulation pulse train defining a pulse frequency. The pulse train generator further comprises a visual output display carried by the housing to provide visual output data including at least the stimulation pulse train parameters for each of the stimulation pulse train output channels, a non-volatile memory carried by the housing to store the stimulation pulse train parameters for each of the plurality of stimulation pulse train output channels, a reference and a pulse train regulation system carried by the housing to regulate the stimulation pulse train in accordance with the select pulse train parameters on each of the plurality of stimulation pulse train output channels so that stimulus pulses of the pulse train having the select stimulation pulse train parameters pass between the intramuscular electrodes respectively connected to the pulse train output channels and a reference electrode and a switch carried by the housing for instantaneously generating a stimulus pulse train signal on one of the plurality of output channels in accordance with selected stimulus pulse train parameters when the switch is activated. The system can be used for therapeutic electrical stimulation of select muscles of an individual. |
