Zusammenfassung:	A use, in the preparation of a medicament for inhibiting HIV protease, of a compound of formula I, is disclosed. The use of a compound of formula I in combination with a reverse transcriptase inhibitor or a combination of reverse transcriptase inhibitors, in the preparation of a medicament for inhibiting an HIV infection is also disclosed. Further, a use, in the preparation of a medicament for inhibiting an HIV infection, of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or prodrug of the compound (2S, 3S, 5S)-2-(2,6-dimethylphenoxyacetyl) amino-3-hydroxy-5-(2S-(1-tetrahydropyrimi-2-only)-3-methyl butanoyl) amino-1,6-diphenylhexane; in combination with another HIV protease inhibitor or a combination if HIV protease inhibitors is disclosed.
