Zusammenfassung:An apparatus for liquid enteral nutritional product feeding comprises a fluid communication means and a formulation chamber having an inlet, outlet and at least one physiologically acceptable marker dye is claimed. The inlet fluidly connects to a supply container containing a liquid enteral nutritional product having a viscosity of at least 3 centipoises whereby the formulation chamber receives that liquid enteral nutritional product from the supply chamber. The marker dye is contained within at least one sustained release reservoir positioned in the formulation chamber and is soluble in the liquid enteral nutritional product. The sustained release reservoir containing the marker dye is a means for providing and dispensing the marker dye into the liquid enteral nutritional product when the reservoir is physically contact during feeding to a patient over a time period of at least two hours. The fluid communication means is capable of operatively connecting the outlet to the formulation chamber to a device that feeds the dye marked liquid enteral nutritional product into the gastrointestinal tract of a patient.
