Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To facilitate the repair and maintenance of segmented seals for sealing the gap between divergent flaps of an axisymmetric vectorable exhaust nozzle for use in a gas turbine engine, by making each of them out of a plurality of seal segments mounted to a hollow backbone-shaped mounting means by a flange. CONSTITUTION: An axisymmetric vectorable nozzle 10 for a gas turbine engine includes a casing 12, and further a convergent section 18, a throat part 24 and a divergent section 26 connected in series along the exhaust flow. Between divergent flaps 28 disposed circumferentially about the centerline 8 of the nozzle 10, divergent seals 30 are disposed circumferentially. The divergent seals 30 are each constituted of a backbone 50, and a plurality of individual seal segments 56 mounted to the backbone 50 axially. The seal segments 56 each have a seal section 58 cantilevered from a flange 60 mounted to the backbone 50 so as to overlap with the adjacent seal segments 56 in a hermetic fashion.
