Zusammenfassung: | 1. A process for the manufacture of 1,2-dichloroethane from ethylene by reaction with hydrogen chloride and inert gases containing oxygen, at 180 to 300 degrees C and a pressure of 0.1 to 1.1 MPa, and by reaction with chlorine in the gas phase in the presence of a solid catalyst containing copper salts or copper and iron salts, with subsequent cooling and separation by distillation of the reaction mixture, both chlorination reactions being carried out successively in a common reaction space containing fluidised catalyst particles, and the heat formed in the whole reaction space being removed by indirect cooling with a liquid and/or gaseous heat transfer medium, characterised by introducing, into the zone of the reaction space in which the first chlorination reaction takes place, 98 to 40% of the total quantity of the volume of ethylene introduced into the common reaction space, and introducing, into the zone of the reaction space, in which the second chlorination reaction takes place, the remaining 2 to 60% of the total quantity of the volume of ethylene introduced into the common reaction space. |
