Compounds of the general formula (I> (wherein Ph is unsubstituted 1,2-phenylene or 1,2-phenylene substituted by one to three identical or different members selected from lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylenedioxy, halogeno or trifluoromethyl, each of R1 and R2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, each of R3 and R4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or (R3 + R4) is Ph or lower alkylene separating both nitrogens by 2 to 4 carbon atoms, R5 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or HPh, X is oxo, Y is epoxy, epithio or sulfinyl, m is an integer from 1 to 7, each of p and q is an integer from 1 to 3, but (p + q = 4) and acid addition salts thereof have antidepressant activity. The "lower" groups each contain up to seven carbon atoms.
